Ratings Scale

DATA ENTRY  Enter 0-5 in the column under “Input Data”  Each page contains 12 different assessment periods, which go from left to right and from top to bottom  This transfers nicely to the front page left to right  The shaded areas contain the formulas that do all of the computation work for the user  Formulas then compile all of the information on the Front Page automatically

Points to consider  Assessment is ongoing  Assessment function in community and unfamiliar settings  O’s = Student not capable of demonstrating skill or does not need skill  A “0” does not count against the score if:  An entire domain is zeroed out  An entire sub-domain is zeroed out  Once you enter a score of 1-5 in a domain/sub-domain, a “0” will count against the score

Example of IFSP Goals & Objectives obtained from the Inventory results O&M IFSP GOALS FOR NG: Sensory Development: By the end of the summer, NG will learn to scan her environment while standing to find her mother at least 15 feet away. Mobility: In six months time, NG will walk on a sidewalk using a teaching cane with the O&M specialist or her mother for the distance from her front door to her mailbox (3 houses away).

Example of IEP Goals & Objectives obtained from the Inventory results O&M IEP GOALS FOR NG: Concept Development: By July 2016, NG will problem solve to reroute or maneuver safely around obstacles in her path with minimal support (prompts, cues, clues) 3 out of 4 trials. Precane & Cane Skills: By July 2016, NG will attend to surface changes in new and familiar environments without prompts using an AMD or the support of a teaching cane 3 out of 5 trials.

Future Plans  0-6 Inventory continues to be a work in progress  Want feedback from COMS who are using it in the field  Will present at AER in July  Will continue to assess many students to gather data  Testing the validity and reliability of the inventory In collaboration with Western Michigan University, Dawn Anderson & Rob Wall Emerson Questions?
