We Have Studied Elements & Principles of Design Principles of Graphic Design C.R.A.P. ColourFont

Process 1. Create a design problem – get approval from Mrs. Noble 2. Identify your audience 3. Make a research plan that includes what you will need to learn/investigate to inform your decisions. 4. Begin working on your draft – save each version with a different name so that you can track your decisions. Example: I will create an optimistic and cheerful infographic that will inform the reader about things they can do to reduce their carbon footprint.

Process 5. Complete the following reflection: a) What is the mood or emotional reaction you want your work to have? b) What elements or principles of design did you use to evoke that mood? Explain. c) Explain how you have used contrast, repetition, alignment, and proximity in your work. d) How did you use symbols/images to convey a personality/theme, and/or information?

Process 6. Conference your work with another student, record their reaction and feedback. Does the design invoke the mood/ emotional reaction you intended? Do they have any suggestions for where you can improve your use of design or graphic design principles? Is your intended message conveyed clearly? NOTE: If you find the person you are conferencing with is not helpful, please look to conference with someone else.

Process 7. Finalize your design by making any changes based on your reflection and your conference 8. Prepare to present your design to the class

Possible Projects Think about what you would like to work on, what interests you, and what matches your skills. Ask me about any ideas you have.
