2 Throughout the game, players have to complete missions in which takes them through the storyline. In the game series it allows players to play the role of a criminal, typically an individual who plans to rise through the ranks of organised crime throughout the game. The game evolves around the use of violence and crime which allows the players to complete the missions and entertain players. GTA 5 is used to entertain players as it gives them many options in the game such as to free roam, complete missions,customize characters. Rockstar also add downloadable contents to the game, which are used to keep players entertained even if they have completed all the missions.Downloadable contents are updated regularly to fit seasons and events. All this means that there is a variety of things to do whilst playing GTA 5. They also meet the uses and gratifications of the game using entertainment/escapism by having unrealistic scenarios such as walking around the streets and beating people for money or having the police give up looking for you. But GTA 5 also provide some realistic scenarios such as damaging a car so much that the character is no longer able to drive it. The game GTA5 also provides Identity which is realistic from the characters in the game and diverse representation. Purpose of GTA5

3 Genre? Grand Theft auto is an Action- Adventure game belonging to a genre of free- roaming video games called "sandbox games," which to players to roam around the city freely and use different weapons and cars. We can tell that GTA5 is an action-adventure video game as from playing it as it mixes different genres including Crime, Action, Driving and conveys the theme of escapism, third person shooting and occasional role playing and racing elements. The game allows players to explore the big city having full control as to where the character goes and what they do, this shows the adventure side to its genre. Action is also a component of GTA5 as the game allows players to complete missions to get to different stages of the game. The game involves a lot of fighting which allows players to defeat other characters by attacking them using weapons, objects or with the players bare hands.

4 Content of the game? Although GTA5 is a multiplayer game it is also gives the option of playing alone to complete the missions given, to complete missions players can access vehicles or move by foot to get to each stage of the game. But the choice to roam the big city freely is given too which can also be done by foot or by vehicle. The game can be played from either third-person or first-person and allows you to pick from three different characters. Not only does the game give the option of characters but you are able to make the characters customisable by changing their clothes etc. By playing on the online mode players can purchase weapons, gear, aircraft and property for their character and also download downloadable contents. The characters make the game very realistic as each character is different having different skills and personality choices, this is good in the game because you will get to know what each character likes to do and where they will be. Once the player has picked a character they are able to switch to another throughout the game, which can be useful for missions, because each of them has a different amount of lives as well as characteristics and skills. By having a choice of characters, players are able to have a favourite and style them how they like. Another realistic feature is that the game involves the Law, not all citizens will let you take their car without issue and the police in the game come into realisation of your stealing or breaking into peoples cars. Each character throughout the games missions has someone they are working for which they are provided with instructions to, which if successfully completed they are able to gain money out of.

The colour of the car is black showing it belongs to a villain. This image is Trevor, one of the characters from GTA5 holding a gun, which portrays the violence in the game. If you look at where the picture is taken from you will realise that the camera is facing up to him to create authority and presents him as big and as a leader. The camera angle has made Trevor look bigger than the buildings to portray him as important. This is image portrays women in this game to be used as items and used for sexual purpose. Women are only used for the purpose of sex in GTA they have made the women to look like this for that purpose. From the women's facial expression it is showing she is trying to be seductive, from her structure we can also see that too. The full image is not shown here but the women is standing in a bikini taking a selfie, modelled after a bikini model. This allows the image to be eye catchy and attract male attention. Women in the game are either bit-part players or set dressing: strippers to throw money at, prostitutes to pick up. This shows a close up of the character Franklin holding a gun. This presents young black citizens to be violent and give them a bad reputation. By the way he is raising the gun shows he is about to use it on anyone in his way, by looking at this it already creates a feeling that this player is heartless and a criminal. The image shows one of the players wearing a gas mask assumed to be from a mission. This shows missions in the game are deadly and dangerous, this can then attract more players to play the game.

This allows the game to be more realistic as they can be arrested and punished for their crimes. It also shows players are against the law and stand for violence. In the background is graffiti on building showing the area is rough and gives the game its features to create a realistic street. The angle of the game view gives a full view of the whole scene so players get to see all the details within the scene. The police

GTA is a game full of violence, of course, but it is mostly slapstick, impersonal, cartoon violence - floppy-limbed pedestrians flying over your bonnet, cars flipping through intersections, or tanks and helicopters exploding. You're always slightly zoomed out from the impact of your actions by the lack of close-ups and the way everything resets to normal a few minutes later. As GTA5 is based on violence, this scene gives viewers an insight which can be both positive and negative. 8 This screenshot from the trailer allows viewers to have an insight of the range of missions and action involved in GTA5. By showing this scene in the trailer it can attract viewers as some might be interested in car games such as Forza Motorsport etc. but not only is this a car game, it is a range of action and adventure combined into one. By giving us the view from the police car, not only does it make the scene life like and realistic but shows people who are interested how much of a challenge some of the missions are as the car is outnumbered by police cars, this would make viewers want to play as it is more of a challenge.

The development team considered the game a spiritual successor to many of their previous projects like Red Dead Redemption and Max Payne 3. Grand Theft Auto V was unexpectedly announced in 2011; it was heavily promoted and widely anticipated. Rockstar re-examined and repaired their proprietary Rockstar Advanced Game Engine (RAGE) to increase its draw distance rendering capabilities. The game uses the Euphoria and Bullet engines for further animation and environment rendering tasks. The developers tried to use all of the potential power of both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, having become familiar with the systems' architectures over several years. The development team researched in Southern California while creating the game's open world, set in and around Los Santos, a fictionalised version of Los Angeles. Grand Theft Auto V is the first game in the series that allows players to control three characters, to distinguish the game from its predecessors and let players explore the open world with fewer constraints. The team used motion capture to record the facial and body movements of the characters. Like previous games in the series, Grand Theft Auto V has an in-game radio that can tune into fifteen stations playing more than 241 tracks of licensed music, as well as two talk radio stations. The game also features an original score composed over many years by a team of five music producers. Rockstar North, the core 360-person team behind the game, co-opted studios owned by parent company Rockstar Games to facilitate development between a full team of over 1,000. These included Rock star NYC, Rockstar San Diego, Rock star Leeds, Rock star Toronto, Rock star New England, Rockstar London and Rockstar Lincoln. Like other projects since Rock star Games Presents Table Tennis (2006), the game uses the proprietary Rock star Advanced Game Engine (RAGE) to perform animation and rendering tasks, and the Euphoria and Bullet engines for further animation and environment rendering tasks. Production Rockstar are masters of viral marketing. Rockstar games use a type of marketing called guerilla marketing which uses low cost and can create a big return on investment. Stock market; GTA5: The Stock Market in grand theft auto v operates with the same goal as real life stock trading. Marketing Distribution Rockstar gave people an option of buying the game in high-street stores such as “Game” but also gave the option of downloading it via pc or games console. It was revealed that 5 million physical copies of Grand Theft Auto V have been sold in the UK alone, and exceeded 54 million shipped copies. It was an expensive single player game which hit $1 billion in sales in three days. Rockstar believe no publicity is bad publicity, meaning that if people were acting angry on these sites, the game was still getting more and more media coverage.
