Central Issuance Registry Presentation for End-Users November, 2008 Special Note: This presentation includes information on Datacard Group’s long range plans, based on our current understanding of the industry, stated customer needs, and many other factors. Given the inherent uncertainty in predicting future business circumstances, Datacard Group reserves the right to change these plans, if appropriate.

We will discuss the Central Issuance Registry later in this presentation.

November, 2008 4 Technology shift is dramatic Life cycles of electronic hardware are shorter than ever –Affects controller PCs, video boards, software licenses, electronic boards –Does not affect mechanical and fabricated parts, tool and die, etc. As new electronic hardware comes to market, hardware manufacturers are no longer offering OS/2 and NT drivers to go with it Result: Datacard can’t integrate new hardware into Legacy Systems because the drivers aren’t available Datacard is therefore at the mercy of our current hardware suppliers –Datacard’s annual volume for this hardware is low and dropping fast –Datacard suppliers have and will continue to announce “Last Time Buy Opportunities” in coming years –How will Datacard estimate what we need? Supporting Legacy Systems is a Challenge

In order to make good decisions in our last time buys, Datacard must have visibility to all Datacard systems still in use Therefore, the goal of the Central Issuance Registry is to capture information on 100% of the legacy systems in active use and to track each system until it is retired All active Legacy Systems should be registered –9000, 9000E, 7000, 5XX –Artista –UltraForm Mailer, UltraForm, UltraPac, PrimaForm Systems must be registered no later than March 31, 2009. –No new entries will be allowed after this date. Datacard Needs Visibility to ALL Datacard Systems Still in Use November, 2008 5

November, 2008 6 Central Issuance Registry Participation Benefits The Central Issuance Registry is important to Datacard It is important to our End-Users and Distributors as well Only systems in the Central Issuance Registry will have access to critical spares Enrollment is not transferable if a system is sold to a new entity, and critical spares will not be available to third party refurbishment operations. What is a “Critical Spare”? –Any part or component for which Datacard has made a last time buy or where Datacard anticipates the need to make a last time buy in the near future –Service replacement parts that are affected by parts shortages –Parts unique to Datacard systems –Essential to extending the useful life of these systems Registry participation is mandatory to have access to critical spares, but it does not constitute a guarantee to obtain them.
