3 UFAS has led to - the development of feed material assurance schemes e.g. FEMAS - the requirement for feed material suppliers to be assured -UFAS and FEMAS are being developed worldwide

6 UFAS Compounds and Merchants §Safe feed for safe food §Based on HACCP principles and Good Manufacturing Practice §Requires adherence to current legislation and Codes of Practice (e.g. Salmonella) §Accredited to EN45011 / ISO 65 §Ensures that the pipe work and mixing tanks are working properly!

7 FEMAS Feed Materials Assurance Scheme §Safe feed for safe food §Based on HACCP principles and Good Manufacturing Practice §Requires adherence to current legislation and Codes of Practice (e.g. Salmonella) §Accredited to EN45011 / ISO 65 §Ensures that the water entering the pipes is safe at the start!
