Automated data-measuring system of commercial electric power consumption accounting “MERCURY PLC” MOSCOW 2008

"INCOTEX" LTD "INCOTEX“ LTD stands at the head of group of companies, mainly focused on development, production and technical maintenance of different electronic products. "INCOTEX" has more than 1500 centers of technical maintenance in Russia, as well as 5 subsidiary plants. "INCOTEX" directly communicates with world leading companies in components such as "Analog Devices", "Atmel", "Microchip", "Epson", "Texas Instruments“, etc. Company Products are delivered to 10 CIS countries and Poland. It is expected to supply products to another 14 countries soon. “INCOTEX" company is oriented to high-tech products and produces broad range of items on following directions: Electronic cash registers, POS terminals ; Printers and printer mechanisms; Electronic scales; Electric Power Meters; Multiaccess big size screens Electrocardiographs. Company information.

"INCOTEX" LTD The Company started manufacturing one-tariff and multi-tariff power meters in 1999 under the Trademark "MERCURY". High-performance automated equipment and high quality of the development and completing ensure high price/quality ratio of products. Technological processes of the mounting and adjusting run without mans assistance. Presently meters are delivered in number of CIS countries and Russian regions. Production facilities capacity is over 60.000 items per month. Electronic production.

"INCOTEX" LTD For the decade electric power meters were constantly developing - from simple and reliable induction instruments to complicated digital devices capable to read, store and transmit through communication channels different settings required for electric power consumption. Accounting systems also had some development stages, each one reflected certain stage of microelectronics achievements and from one-processor systems, which calculates pulses from induction meters verification output, to multi-processor network systems with data exchange through power wires by means of noise-resistant wideband signals. Next five slides show structure flowcharts of most typical accounting systems Automated control systems. Introduction.

"INCOTEX" LTD 1.Simple system. 2.Expensive in mounting and maintenance because of big amount of wires. 3.Difficult to get data of meters indications (only consumption for time period). 4.Low protection from vandalism mC Evolutionary process. Pulses accounting.

"INCOTEX" LTD mC Pulse accounting on the floor RS-485/CAN 1.Less wires in contrast with the above shown system. 2.Reliability considerably depends on floor controllers quality. 3.Difficult to get data on meters indications (only consumption for time period). 4.Low protection from vandalism. Evolutionary process. Floor controllers with RS-485.

"INCOTEX" LTD mC Pulse accounting on the floor Data transmitting on power line 220V PLM Pulse accounting on the floor PLM Pulse accounting on the floor PLM 1.Wire interface between floors and board is replaced by modems on power network. 2.Reliability improved. Some disadvantages of preceding systems remain – difficult to get data on indications (only consumption for time period). 3.Low protection from vandalism. PLM Evolutionary process. Floor controllers with PLC.

"INCOTEX" LTD mC RS-485/CAN 1.Simplified accounting circuit, counters have digital interface. 2.There can be only one meter type on one object. 3.Reliability depends on meters quality wires mounting. 4.It is possible to operate with meter indication on upper level. 5.Low protection from vandalism. Evolutionary process. Meter with digital interface.

"INCOTEX" LTD mC Data transmitting on power line 220v 1.Modem is built into meter with power lines due to electronic achievements. 2.No wire installations during system mounting. 3.High reliability and protection from vandalism due to no wires. Phase А Phase B Phase С Phase 0 Evolutionary process. Meters with internal PLC model.

"INCOTEX" LTD System destination. Collection, processing, storage and displaying of data on the consumption of the energy from meters. Data grouping according to object initial basis. Calculation of energy granting-consumption imbalance. Consumer load control by remote disconnection (restriction) – connection of power supply. Universal time synchronizing in all accounting system devices; Control log organization and keeping of accounting system equipment diagnostics, emergency events and system operation protocol; Support of local and global networks of the enterprise based on TCP / IP protocol. Ensuring protection from unauthorized access with no possibility of viewing, changing or erasing data by person with no respective rights. Preparing report forms for data documentation of energy carriers consumption. Integration into billing systems.

"INCOTEX" LTD Distributing power network 220V/380V as data transmission environment is characterized by the following basic parameters: High level of noises and quick high-frequency signal fading Characteristic impedance module in bandwidth from fractions to units and tens of Ohms. Noises of the unpredictable form and power both wideband and with concentrated spectrum. Signal unevenness of the frequency characteristic with sharp collapses and peaks. Unpredictable impedance changing in time and along transmission. In the base data exchange in the system lies data transmission principle with all known signal division types application - temporal, frequency and code, which ensures data transmission in most unfriendly environment. For high noise-immunity and high data protection level, OFDM-modulation (Orthogonal Frequency Division Modulation) algorithms are used. OFDM-modulation forms resulting signal by multiplexing of several wideband signals. Technology.

"INCOTEX" LTD Peak radiation power of transmitter - 0,5 W Modem consumption current - 7 mA Number of meters supported by concentrator - more 3.000 Noise-immunity of the system exceeds in several times noise-immunity of analogues (in amplitude). Modern wideband digital technologies are used for data transmission. Modem module construction allows to build it into different types of meters. System tuning does not require high qualifications and are reduced to installation of individual addresses of meters within network, supported by current concentrator. In case of multi-tariff accounting, meters built-in clock are synchronized from periodically adjusted clock in concentrator. Features.

"INCOTEX" LTD Warranty applies to all ‘INCOTEX” products and it is specified in passport. Warranty period for meters is 6 years. System servicing is realized within the framework of the agreement between consumer and mounting company. Base software for operation with accounting system is delivered and accompanied free of charge. Software created under technical requirement of the customer is developed and supported on the commercial basis. Warranty.
