Looking forward… Our THREE key targets for the next 10 years are … 1.REPUTATION 2.FRIENDSHIP 3.EXPANSION These can only be achieved by all of us working together. 5

Working together… the real VALUE AAPBS offers to members By active participation in AAPBS events, surveys and Working Groups YOU …  can learn, add value and contribute to regional change;  ensure the continued success of AAPBS, helping to raise its profile in Asia-Pacific and globally; and  encourage new members to join AAPBS. 6

Working Groups… up and running  Our Working Groups, their tasks and resulting contributions are …  key to the future growth and development of AAPBS;  an established agenda item at our conferences; and  providing ongoing value(s) to members. 7

For example… Thank you to Dr Julie Davies, Deputy Executive of the Association of Business Schools, UK and WG7 for delivering our first annual Membership Survey. Our annual Membership Survey will become a valuable tool to AAPBS. From your feedback we can work together to improve our services, communications and benefits to members. Some of the changes are being implemented now. More complex and longer term suggestions will be discussed further by Council. 8

Changes to our Constitution Changes to our Constitution are now necessary. The changes ensure the Association’s sustainability and support our strategic plans for membership and value. The six key proposed changes are to … 9

Proposed changes to our Constitution 1.Formalise the normal and automatic annual increase of $50 USD to annual fees; 2.Formalise Distinguished Fellows; 3.Allow the President to serve a Presidential term of more than 1 consecutive year; 4.Increase Council membership to 22 representative institutions; 5.Formalize the active role of a Council member; and 6.Allow amendments to the Constitution to be formally voted in at meetings other than the Annual Meeting. 10

AAPBS led Asia-Pacific Business School Finder  The influence of the Asia-Pacific region is increasing globally.  AAPBS wants to be firmly established not only in the Asia-Pacific BUT also globally.  Current ranking systems list results as league tables and/or by star rating, we believe there may be an opportunity for AAPBS to independently develop a different type of system aimed specifically for Asia-Pacific business schools, students, employers and parents.  AAPBS was very interested to learn from you, YOUR views on current business school rankings in the Asia-Pacific region. 11

AAPBS led Asia-Pacific Business School Finder – your views  Our Business School Rankings Survey was conducted during March 2015.  The results of our Survey told us that …  73% of the Survey respondents support the notion of an AAPBS led Asia-Pacific Business School Finder;  who the audience should be;  the criteria to be measured; and  will help with the future development of the “AAPBS Asia-Pacific BizSchool Finder”.  A summary of the results will be published in our June e-Newsletter. 12

The AAPBS Asia-Pacific BizSchool Finder – Next Steps Detailed research and analysis into the methodology and design, timing, costs; funding, branding and promotion. With …  A prototype available HERE and NOW for YOUR use this week;  A pilot available for YOU to test at the AAPBS Annual Meeting in November; and  “Go live” early in 2016. 13

2016 and beyond - CREATED a culture of change With …  Improved administration efficiencies;  Transparency in how AAPBS operates;  Continually improving governance;  Continuing enhancements to all forms of member communications; and  Timely and topical conference agendas and speakers. AAPBS is ready to embrace the challenges the new decade brings AND adapt to the changes increased membership and global recognition bring. 14

And today… We …  WELCOME you to Bali and to our 2015 AAPBS Academic Conference; and  THANK our conference co‐hosts:  Prasetiya Mulya Business School; and  The School of Business and Management Institut Teknologi Bandung If you have any questions, please ask the AAPBS team or visit our website www.aapbs.org 15
