The male sexual problems is a very wide problem around the world, it's more common than people realize. It affect around 7% of the young population in the 20 to 40 age group, and it could become 40% for the over the 60s

There are two main sexual problems are very common, and they may affect any man in any age. And they are the erectile dysfunction (impotence), and the premature ejaculation.

Erectile Dysfunction (impotence): It means inability of the man to get or to keep the erection. It may affect the man in any time in his life or he may experience that in some times but not all the time, but it become a problem when it becomes persistent and recurrent, and when it interfere with the sexual life.

Causes of the erectile dysfunction: There are many causes for the erectile problems, and they vary from each other's, some problems are Psychological issues which tend to affect younger men, such as first night nerves and so on. Thinking of work, money, relationship, family, or even worry about not getting an erection, all of that can be Psychological factors for problem, and the psychosexual therapist can help in you to pass this problems.

Medical and health conditions affect the erection function: Heart disease Diabetes Raised blood pressure Raised cholesterol Low testosterone Smoking and alcohol Some prescription drugs: beta-blockers, antidepressants, antipsychotic, anticonvulsant drugs.

Your GP is the first one who can help you, because he will examine you, to identify the cause. Because important is a signal for the other health condition above, and the treatment could be to treat the underlying disease.

There are some options may start with it. Adjust lifestyle factors that might be risk factors. Stop drinking and stop smoking. Put you on other prescribed drugs if they were the cause. Treat with hormone replacement therapy, if the low testosterone was the cause.

If the GP diagnosed it as psychosexual problem he will refer you to the psychosexual therapist, who will discuss the sexual or emotional issues or concerns with you and your partner.

Premature ejaculation: It's defined as ejaculation with minimal stimulation occurs before the person wishes it. It's only a problem if it bothers him or his partner.

And this happens either when you are very excited with your partner "may be with the new partner", or when there is hypersensitivity of the local nervous system, and this trigger orgasm too early. Anxiety about sexual performance, stress, unresolved issues in a relationship, or depression, may are also a risk to have a premature ejaculation.

What to do when you have the sexual problem? Go to visit the GP, or a psychosexual therapist. A therapist can teach you techniques to try to delay ejaculation, and that could be enough end this problem, many partners have a better sexual life after these techniques.

Have sex again soon after the man ejaculates. The second time, it will take longer to reach an orgasm. Creams (available from sex shops) can be put on the penis to numb sensation. “But this tends to transfer the numbing sensation to the partner, whom they don't always like. The man’s partner can squeeze his penis in a certain way to prevent him ejaculating. Antidepressants called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) can slow ejaculation Psychotherapy might help in terms of relaxing or exploring problems in the relationship.
