2 Malmö – the growth center of the region Photo: Leif Johansson Xray Population increased for the 30th year in a row (+5,113 in 2014) In 20 years, Malmö’s population has increased by 75,000 residents (+31%) Malmö had about 1.5 million visitors staying overnight in commercial lodgings in 2014 (73% from Sweden, 27% international of which Germany, Denmark and GB are the most represented countries) Malmö is ranked number 21 in Sweden concerning the number of new companies in 2014 - 7.5 new companies/1,000 inhabitants.
