4 Basic Format of the Works Cited Page:  Lastname, Firstname. Title of Book. Place of Publication: Publisher, Year of Publication. Medium of Publication.

5  One Author: Gleick, James. Chaos: Making a New Science. New York: Penguin, 1987. Print.  Two Authors: Gillespie, Paula, and Neal Lerner. The Allyn and Bacon Guide to Peer Tutoring. Boston: Allyn, 2000. Print.  No Known Author: ---. The Films of the Eighties: A Social History. Carbondale: Southern Illinois UP, 1993. Print.

6 Basic Format of the Works Cited Page: Lastname, Firstname. Title. Volume #. Place of Publication: Publisher, Year of Publication. Medium of Publication. Example: Quintilian. Institutio Oratoria. Vol. 2. Cambridge: Loeb- Harvard UP, 1980. Print.

7  Cite as you would any other work in a collection but do not include the publisher information. Also, if the reference book is organized alphabetically, as most are, do not list the volume or the page number of the article or item.  Example: "Ideology." The American Heritage Encyclopedia. 3rd ed. 1997. Print.

8  Article in a Magazine Format  Author(s). “Title of Article.” Title of Periodical Day Month Year: pages. Medium of publication.  Example:  Buchman, Dana. “A Special Education.” Good Housekeeping Mar. 2006: 143-8. Print.
