1 Middle School Dragon Time

2 What is Dragon Time?  One period each day is devoted to Dragon Time activities and events. The mission of the Dragon Time program is to develop the relationship, attitudes, and skills that contribute to a positive community.

5 Extended Learning Time (ELT) Students can arrange during this time to: Visit teachers to finish tests Retakes Receive extra help Work on a project with group members Finish missing assignments Get extra practice time on an instrument Read

6 Clubs Several SCIS Middle School Clubs will meet weekly during this time. Club list coming soon!

7 Meetings & Events This day includes but is not limited to: House Games All Middle School assemblies Grade level meetings and assemblies House meetings Celebrations

8 Dragon Time Lessons  Students will participate in lessons focusing on life skills, building character, and adolescence.  This year, these lessons will be taught by the guidance counselor, Ms. Geisen-Kisch as she will visit each advisory on a rotating basis.

9 What is House?  House is a community of students from Grades 6- 8 grouped together. All Middle School students and staff belong to one of five houses.  The program aims to create collaboration and friendly competitions as house members work together to create house cheers, earn points for their house, and compete in house competitions.  Each house is led by two student leaders who are designated as House Captains as well as a teacher advisor.

10 The are 5 Houses  Water  Metal  Wood  Earth  Fire

11 House Games  Through our house system, students participate in House Games organized by House Captains.  House games will happen about once a month on Fridays. Students should wear their house shirts for these competitions.

12 All Middle School Assemblies  These assemblies happen about once a month on Friday. They give us a chance to come together and celebrate all the awesome things we do. Assemblies may include:  Student performances  Recognition of students and teams  Important announcements
