12 Our automotive division will introduce students to careers in automotive technology, body fabrication and repair and refinishing. Student groups will construct a go-kart, and get a chance to race it at the end of the camp! This hands-on course will help students explore the operation and design involved in making a car. They will also learn the engine, electrical systems, paint detailing, graphic design and installation processes for all go-kart components Summer Academy Racer’s Camp

13 All participants will design, build and paint a mini-modular home with working amenities including electrical, plumbing and information technology elements. Each student will design their own mini-house and add working accessories such as lights, ceiling fans, electrical curtains and sinks with running water. Summer Academy Construction Zone

14 Students will be designing and building metal guitars with their very own creativity and manufacturing skills! The students will use an advanced Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) machine to assemble their guitars and even insert a functional clock into their creation. They will also learn how to use Ranken’s new state-of-the-art welding facilities to build a guitar stand to display their innovation. This program introduces students to each manufacturing process from research and design to prototype production, quality control and assurance and ultimately the assembly and distribution of a product. 15 Ranken’s electrical department will engage students in authentic scientific research and a hands-on robotic design course. The camp will include the construction of LEGO MINDSTORMS® for students to learn the latest electrical technologies. They will also apply their knowledge on a Mini Solar building kit, which they will be able to take home, to explore the benefits of solar energy. Students will develop trouble shooting skills and the ability to work in a team environment. Summer Academy All A-Bot Robots
