5 Getting Started  When registering to do business with the State it is strongly recommended to use a Federal Employer Identification Number  One can be obtained at no cost through the Internal Revenue Service (IRS)  Using an FEIN will minimize the risks to personal financial information associated with the use of a social security number  If you do not have a FEIN number you can obtain one at www.IRS.govwww.IRS.gov Page - 5
