1 City of Bay Minette Title: Concession Supervisor Department: Pool Hourly Range Non-Exempt Worker’s Comp. 2751 Summary The Pool Concession Supervisor is responsible to operate and maintain the concession area. Essential Functions The following duties are normal for this classification. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned. Specific duties listed may not be required for all positions within this classification, but are determined by the normal requirements for the particular position. Report directly to the Pool Director. Manage customer relation with Concession workers and patrons. Receipt daily admission fees, and concession sales. Maintain stock for concession. Maintain concession ledger for patrons with a prepaid for concession purchases. Operate cash register. Must wear staff uniform, hat/visor while on duty at all times ( please remember you will be a City Employee). Must have ability to do daily cleaning assignments for the concession and game room or other areas. Report any broken equipment or mechanical failure to Pool Director. 1

2 Maintain and keep all necessary records concerning pool attendance. Maintain concession ledger for patrons with a prepaid concession purchase. Maintain daily cash ledgers and deposits. Arrange daily cash register drawers. Draft sign with Concession prices. Must wear staff uniform, hat/visor and whistle while on duty at all times (please remember you will be a City Employee). Maintain all emergency equipment and first aid supplies. Enforce all pool rules and regulations by using common sense and judgment as directed by Red Cross/national recognized agency. Enforce the emergency procedure as directed by City of Bay Minette to be followed incase of an accident or drowning. Set the concession workers rotation at assigned area and responsibilities of each worker. Schedule daily cleaning assignments for the facility including bathrooms. Schedule any reported broken safety or mechanical equipment for repair. Schedule any other assigned task that need to be done at the pool or pool building. Manage customer relations with swimming pool patrons. Oversee cleaning and general swimming pool and building maintenance. 2

3 Maintain and keep all necessary pool reports, problem-member reports. Monitor the activities of the concession area and party room area. Enforce City rules and regulations, Parks and Grounds Policies of the City of Bay Minette. Document incidents/accidents as they occur. Manage disorderly patrons. File reports with local law enforcement when necessary. Work flexible work schedule that may include evenings, holidays and weekends. Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age or older; must be available for entire pool season (approximately 90 days); must be drug free (random drug test may be performed); must be in good physical condition; be dependable, alert and enthusiastic; exhibits a welcoming and pleasant attitude conducive to working with the public; CPR and First Aid Training Certifications recommended. Minimum Requirements to Perform Essential Job Functions The following requirements are normal for this classification. Specific requirements may not apply to all positions within this classification, but are determined by the normal requirements for the particular position. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to work in high humidity and diverse weather condition; requires quick and accurate response to emergencies. Physical demand requirements for some positions within this classification may at times be at levels of those for heavy work. DATA COMPREHENSION: Requires the ability to compare and/or judge the readily observable functional, structural, or compositional characteristics (whether similar to or divergent from obvious standards) of data, people, or things which may include maps, directories, and procedural manuals. INTERPERSONAL COMMUNICATIONS: Requires the ability to speak with and/or signal people to convey or exchange information, including giving/receiving assignments and/or directions to/from co-workers, assistants, managers, or supervisors as well as communication with the general public. 3

4 LANGUAGE ABILITY: Requires ability to read a variety of grounds keeping documentation, directions, instructions, and methods and procedures. Requires the ability to write basic job related documentation and reports with proper format, punctuation, spelling and grammar, using all parts of speech. Requires the ability to speak with and before others with poise, voice control, and confidence using correct English and well-modulated voice. INTELLIGENCE: Requires the ability to learn and understand grounds keeping principles and techniques, to understand departmental policies and procedures, to make independent judgments in absence of supervision, and to acquire and be able to expound on knowledge of topics related to primary occupation. VERBAL APTITUDE: Requires the ability to record and deliver information, to explain procedures, and to follow verbal and written instructions. NUMERICAL APTITUDE: Requires the ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide and determine time and weight. FORM/SPATIAL APTITUDE: Requires the ability to visually inspect items for proper length, width, and shape using job related equipment which includes standard measuring devices. MOTOR COORDINATION: Requires the ability to coordinate hands and eyes in using grounds keeping and maintenance equipment and to operate a motor vehicle. MAUNUAL DEXTERITY: Requires the ability to handle a variety of items, grounds keeping and maintenance equipment, control knobs, switches, etc. Must have the ability to use one hand for twisting motion or turning motion while coordinating other hand with different activities. Must have average levels of eye/hand/foot coordination. COLOR DIFFERENTIATION: May require the ability to discern color. INTERPERSONAL TEMPERAMENT: Requires the ability to deal with and relate to people beyond giving and receiving instructions. Must be able to adapt to and perform under moderate stress when confronted with an emergency. PHYSICAL COMMUNICATION: Requires the ability to talk, express, or exchange ideas by means of spoken words and/or hear and perceive nature of sounds by ear. 4
