21 The 6th-largest French Metropolis  Geographical and human proximity between Nantes and Saint-Nazaire: - 35 min by train (TGV line) - The Loire estuary, hyphen between the two territories  Population of over a million (metropolitan area – Nantes + Saint-Nazaire: 850 000)  + 70.000 inhabitants between 1990 and 1999 for the 2 main cities (+ 100.000 by 2025)  350. 000 jobs, 263.000 private sector jobs 33% more jobs created in 10 years (national rate: +19%) 59% of private jobs in services sector, 23% industry/construction, 18% trade 44.000 companies and businesses 31 600 euros average household income  49.000 students  Outstanding preserved natural spaces, high quality of life based on the concepts of social/territorial cohesion in the heart of local public policies.
