Safety action will be taken to stabilize the Family until the allegation can be assessed. Issuance of a Military Protective Order (MPO) to ensure safety of victim and offender. o Ensure a risk assessment is complete before ending MPO.

Civilians cannot be forced in to FAP treatment. The primary control mechanism is to bar Family Members sponsors from post and revocation of sponsorship (OCONUS). Referral and coordination with civilian law enforcement and service providers (Host Nation Law Enforcement and Civilian Misconduct Official).

This amendment makes it a felony for anyone convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence to ship, transport, possess, or receive firearms or ammunition. There is no exception for military personnel engaged in official duties. Investigate and consult SJA regarding Soldiers with qualifying convictions.
