2. SREMSKA MITROVICA is a city and municipality located in the Vojvodina province of Serbia, on the left bank of Sava river just 60km from Serbia’s capital, Belgrade. 4. Sightseeing The city itself is a reflection of the 19th century architecture with amazing facades throughout the whole city centre. Most attractive sights are “City library”, theater, “Museum of Srem”, church “Sv. Dimitrija”, Rimocatholic Church, Police station, squares “Žitni trg” and “Trg Sv. Stefana”, brigde “Sv. 5. Bridge “Sv. Irineja” connecting the city of Sremska Mitrovica and the town of Mačvanska Mitrovica. A fountain called “The Stone Flower”, placed in the city park, is one of city’s symbols. Old facades, another mark of the city.

The reserve has more than 600 plant species, 180 bird species, 150 mushroom species, 65 mammal species and 25 fish species ( fish called Umbra lives only in Zasavica). It is one of a kind for having beavers, Podolian cows, donkeys and mangulitsa – an endangered species of pig. The reserve offers you and amazing boat ride when you can see all the beauties of this Serbian treasure. Tourists are impressed with the hospitality of the local people but also with a very rich menu that offers marvelous Serbian dishes. Zasavica is one of Serbia’s main tourist attractions. 9. OUT & ABOUT The city offers you plenty of activities to do in your spare time. There is a number of sports clubs in which you can train your favorite sports such as football, tennis, basketball, volleyball, athletics, ping pong and even American football, the first club of a kind in Serbia. There is also a skate part, where many sk8ers learn their first steps and tricks. From time to time, there are tournaments being held in city’s sports centre, “Pinki”. The city has its own theatre and cinema and there is a number of bars, Irish pubs, pizzerias, and discotheques which young people go out to. During the summer time, the top spot of the city is the local beach, where you can take a dip in the river Sava, or just sunbath and play your favorite sports such as beach volleyball, football on sand and basketball and at night party in the beach night clubs which are crowded every night.
