SACRIFICE

SACRIFICE For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 Romans 6:23

SACRIFICE I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20 Galatians 2:20

SACRIFICE For it was indeed fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, innocent, unstained, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens. He has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, first for his own sins and then for those of the people, since he did this once for all when he offered up himself. For the law appoints men in their weakness as high priests, but the word of the oath, which came later than the law, appoints a Son who has been made perfect forever. Hebrews 7:26-28

SACRIFICE “Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, I will testify against you. I am God, your God. Not for your sacrifices do I rebuke you; your burnt offerings are continually before me. I will not accept a bull from your house or goats from your folds. For every beast of the forest is mine, the cattle on a thousand hills.

SACRIFICE I know all the birds of the hills, and all that moves in the field is mine. If I were hungry, I would not tell you, If I were hungry, I would not tell you, for the world and its fullness are mine. Do I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats? Offer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving Psalm 50:7-14

SACRIFICE For I desire steadfast love and not sacrifice, the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings. Hosea 6:6 Hosea 6:6 To do righteousness and justice is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice. Proverbs 21:3 “Go and learn what this means, ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’” Matthew 9:13

SACRIFICE

REMEMBRANCE

REMEMBRANCE And they kept the Feast of Booths, as it is written, and offered the daily burnt offerings by number according to the rule, as each day required Ezra 3:4

REMEMBRANCE Oh give thanks to the LORD; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works! … Remember the wondrous works that he has done, his miracles and the judgments he uttered 1 Chronicles 16:8-9, 12

REMEMBRANCE For the LORD is good; his steadfast love endures forever, and his faithfulness to all generations. Psalm 100:5

REMEMBRANCE but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect 1 Peter 3:15

REMEMBRANCE

From the first day of the seventh month they began to offer burnt offerings to the Lord. But the foundation of the temple of the Lord was not yet laid. So they gave money to the masons and the carpenters, and food, drink, and oil to the Sidonians and the Tyrians to bring cedar trees from Lebanon to the sea, to Joppa, according to the grant that they had from Cyrus king of Persia. Ezra 3:6-7

GENEROSITY

GENEROSITY “And let each survivor, in whatever place he sojourns, be assisted by the men of his place with silver and gold, with goods and with beasts, besides freewill offerings for the house of God that is in Jerusalem.” Ezra 1:4

GENEROSITY Beware lest you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.’ You shall remember the LORD your God, for it is he who gives you power to get wealth, that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is this day. And if you forget the LORD your God and go after other gods and serve them and worship them, I solemnly warn you today that you shall surely perish. Deuteronomy 8:17-19

GENEROSITY Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need. Malachi 3:10

GENEROSITY Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. Philippians 3:8
