3 Purpose: Cardiovascular disease continues to be a leading cause of death in America despite many important advances in diagnosis, treatment and prevention. This conference is designed to explore those advances and provide tools and information to primary care physicians and other healthcare providers to equip them with the latest evidence-based approaches to impact patients positively. In addition, this conference will provide opportunities to discuss compare and contrast options available to treating healthcare providers and patients. Objectives: At the end of this program, the participants should be able to: Determine the optimal treatment strategy for risk factor modification in the patient with a history of cardiovascular disease Utilize best practice approaches for the management of atrial fibrillation Identify strategies for early detection of peripheral vascular disease Identify the latest interventional procedures available for treating peripheral vascular disease Discuss emerging techniques for percutaneous valve replacement Outline treatment options and plans of care for patients experiencing continued episodes of syncope Describe the latest approaches for the treatment of congestive heart failure
