18 18 What is Financial Inclusion? Financial Inclusion (FI) implies access to formal financial /banking services UIDAI plans to enable FI by facilitating the opening of bank accounts for all residents along with the issuance of the Aadhaar number There would also be a provision to link the existing bank accounts of residents to the Aadhaar number. Bank accounts can be opened for all residents, including children The micro-ATM network and BC will eliminate the need for the resident’s physical proximity to the bank

19 19 Benefits of Financial Inclusion UIDAI is working at ensuring disbursal of social security benefits, like Pension,Scholarship,NREGA wages directly to these bank accounts Message to people: Resident must carry her/his Pass book to the Enrolment centre, in case she/he wants to link an existing bank account to Aadhaar

20 Financial Inclusion-Banking  UIDAI Enabled Bank Account (UEBA) with Resident consent  Existing Bank A/c – Link to UIDAI  No Bank A/c - UIDAI to enable A/c opening via Bank  Bank accounts can be opened for all residents, including children  Enables registrar to perform fund transfer to resident directly for any social sector initiatives 20

30 Introducers and their Role Role of Introducers: To enable inclusion of people who are hard to reach and for those who do not have any proof of address and identity Each location should have multiple Introducers Introducers will be identified by Registrars (State Governments) 30

31 Who can be Introducers? Elected local body representatives (such as Panchayat Pradhan and members, Block Samiti, Zila Parishad –President and members, urban local body members etc) Village teachers, Aanganwadi workers, ASHA workers, Postmen, etc 31

32 Introducer Enrolment 32 7. 1. Registrar to prepare list of authorized introducers 2. Organize camp & invite introducers for enrolment; conduct an introducer sensitization session in the camp 3. Enroll introducers & provide them with Aadhaar no. 5. Introducers are aligned to Registrars; endorsement access can be restricted to defined geography if the Registrar desires 6. For introducing Residents who do not have documentary proof, provides fingerprint in the software endorsing the resident Introducer to sign consent form & handover to Registrar 4.
