2 Weekly Objectives-Social Media THE STUDENT WILL: Investigate the history of social media. Define social media. Discover how social media evolved in our society. Investigate the different types of social media (Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Texting, LinkedIn, MyYearbook, MySpace, Instagram, and so forth). Discuss the pros and cons of social media when used personally, educationally, and professionally. Perform touch typing by keying words, sentences, and paragraphs (ongoing). Demonstrate their strengths and weaknesses on Social Media Unit Post Test.

3 Monday-Daily Agenda PreBell: Students will complete Test-Timewriting on Edu typing -3 Mins on the Importance of Reading. 2 times each day. The teacher will introduce lesson on Social Media and give purpose of lesson—See Warmup on WMS ICT1Teacher Website Link by watching the video and discuss it. The teacher will allow student to complete Pre-Test on Social Media on Canvas The student will go to Canvas & complete a Social Media On-line Discussion and follow instructions on the importance of this Assignment. The teacher will discuss social media vocabulary and different types of social media on Canvas or my website. Students will write Social Media Voc. /Glossary for study notes. Enrichment Activity: Use the Frayer Model with more than one vocabulary. Remedial Activity: Use the Frayer Model with one vocabulary word on Social Media. 4 Tuesday Daily Agenda PreBell: Students will complete Test-Timewriting on Edu typing -3 Mins on the Importance of Reading. 2 times each day The teacher will introduce lesson on the history of social media and the purpose of the lesson. Students will read information at http://www.digitaltrends.com/features/the-history-of- social-networking/#!bH4Wqr and participate in a discussion on how social media evolved. Student will post to the Canvas discussion board and respond to at least two classmates post. Students will complete a Social Media Web Quest to determine how social media evolved and discuss orally. Independent/Integration LA Activity: TSW complete Social Media Madness #3 on using Integration of Language Arts in Social Media. Teacher will review social media vocabulary and facts about social media. Remedial and Enrichment--Independent Practice-Differentiated Activity- ----Complete Edu typing lessons on Unit 2 Course Lesson and Adv. Students will complete all Social Media Notes and complete Tuesday Social Media Web Quest and Social Media Madness, if not completed. After researching social media’s beginnings and progression throughout the years, the student will complete a social media timeline using Word or PowerPoint. 6 Thursday Daily Agenda PreBell: Students will complete Test- Timewriting on Edu typing -3 Mins on the Importance of Reading. 2 times each day The teacher will introduce lesson on social media and the purpose of the lesson. The teacher will check and discuss weekly homework on Social Media Scavenger Hunt with students. Students will investigate methods of staying safe online using the Internet and social media through the use of 6 tutorials to include: internet safety, online predators, Cyberbullying, social network safety, file sharing networks, and mobile device safety. After completing the tutorials, the student will take a practice quiz on staying safe online. –go to www.brainpop.com or other online resources.— Whole Group Activitywww.brainpop.com Students will complete Scenario-Social Media PSA-Project Activity Remedial— Create posters or brochures for this activity. (Enrichment) The teacher will review all notes on Social Media with students for wrap-up lesson. Homework: Study all notes and Handouts on Social Media. Post Test on Friday

7 Friday Daily Agenda Pre Bell Activity: Students will complete Test- Timewriting on Edu typing -3 Mins on the Importance of Reading. 2 times each day The students will complete Social Media Unit Post Test on Canvas for evaluation. After Post Test on Canvas, students who complete work early will be allowed to practice keyboarding skills on Edu Typing on Course Section Unit 2 or Read/test on AR book or work on typing games/educational games on Cool Math. Closure: Exit Question on Canvas or Index Cards.
