7. New building of Intel in Gdansk INTEL IN POMERANIA – study case In 1999, after the acquisition of Gdańsk Olicom team by Intel Corporation, the Intel R&D centre started to grow. In March 2016, Intel Technology Poland signed a contract for the ALLCON@park office complex purchase from the Allcon Investment. The property is located in Gdańsk, in the neighborhood of the Lech Wałęsa Airport and close to the Tricity bypass. The transaction involves an acquisition of all of the five buildings of the complex. Their total area amounts to ca 26 000 sq m, whereas the site plot covers ca 72 000 sq m. The branch of the company located in Gdańsk is one of the biggest and most important R&D world centers of INTEL, employing more than 1200 people. Most of staff comes from Gdansk University of Technology and works on technologies that will be available on the market in 4 to 5 years. Intel has no problems attracting employees. When building HR support team with Hebrew people migrated from Torun (the only city with Hebrew linguistic faculty in country).
