3 ICAP Individual Career and Academic Plan All students Naviance Assists students with career exploration, academic planning, college and scholarship information!

4 Special Programs Students can talk with their school counselor about programs that may fit their ICAP while they are in high school: Advanced Placement classes Area Vocational Program Concurrent Enrollment

5 Area Vocational Program PPCC (Centennial campus) Hands-on curriculum High school students only College instructors who have worked or are currently working in the field Full year commitment College curriculum Dual credit if student earns A’s and B’s High school credit only if C’s or D’s 3.0 elective credits for AVP per semester; two additional classes per semester at PRHS/LPHS in the afternoon Transportation provided

7 Concurrent Enrollment Accelerated learning for courses that are not offered in district Cooperative agreement with a qualified institution of higher education (PPCC, UCCS) Dual enrollment, dual credit Classes with traditional college students Semester-long commitment District pays for tuition only Maximum of 2 classes per term 0.5 credit per 3+-credit-hour class No transportation provided

14 COF College Opportunity Fund Use this link above, or go to NAVIANCE and click COF on the left hand side of your screen. COF provides a college stipend for students completing undergraduate course work (full or part-time) at a participating public or private college or university in the state of Colorado. Public College- $75, Private- $38 per credit hour.

17 WUE Western Undergraduate Exchange Through WUE, students in western states may enroll in participating two-year and four-year public college programs at a reduced tuition level. In all cases, WUE tuition is considerably less than non-resident tuition When WUE works, it works well! Visit the website, watch deadlines, find participating schools.

19 FAFSA www.fafsa.ed.gov Free Application for Federal Student Aid Who should fill out the FAFSA? - Everyone! When do I fill out the FAFSA? -In January of my senior year - Starting in February, every Wednesday, PPCC on the Rampart Range campus or Centennial campus hosts free financial aid help through March!!

21 Other Resources and Opportunities Naviance: includes information on mainly locally-based scholarships Boettcher Scholarship – 4 year schools in Colorado (very competitive, merit-based) Daniels Fund – based on leadership and character, fulfills remaining costs beyond what family can afford – 4 year nonprofit schools in the US Kane-The Kane Family Foundation awards high achieving Colorado residents the full-cost of tuition, fees, and books for up to four years.
