7 CUPSI is... College Unions Poetry Slam Invitational- A.K.A. “College Nats” or the National College Slam…. Founded April 2001 at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor 15th Annual CUPSI is March 25-28, 2015 @ Virginia Commonwealth University Site of the 16 th CUPSI is TBD. Interested in hosting? 11 Only Shotgun National Championship featuring all six disciplines in one single event: ● International Skeet and Trap, American Skeet and Trap, Five-Stand and Sporting Clays. ● More than 600 students, 75 schools representing the 2014 Championships And only series with 11 established events from coast to coast after just three years. ● Each of the Conference Championships allows a combined competition of both Collegiate as well as High School teams to participate in ● Record participation in an American shoot with over 140 shooters (Jan. 2015) ● 2014-15 818 students, 102 schools

14 ● 9-ball & Table Tennis Tournaments are held throughout the first three months of the year ● One of ACUI’s longest standing traditions ● All about having friendly and fun competition, networking with students who are passionate about the same sports ● Provides students the opportunity to compete in Sectional and National Tournaments where scholarships are awarded

15 Recreation & Leisure ● 9-ball is one of the longest running programs in ACUI history o 10 Sectional and Independent Qualifiers this year o With half of the 9-ball season completed, we’ve reached over 150 students o Top 25% qualify for nationals

16 9-Ball ● 2015 season has 10 scheduled 9-ball events spreading across the country from Portland State University to George Mason University and including events in the Upper Central region (North Dakota/Wyoming) o 5 Sectionals o 5 Independent Qualifiers ● Great way to show off your campus and facilities. o Now accepting proposals for 2015 9-ball Championships! o Gain valuable skills in event planning and management o Tournaments give opportunities for students to network with other students and clubs across the country o To Apply to host please visit http://www.acui.org/billiards http://www.acui.org/billiards

17 Table Tennis ● New partnership with National Collegiate Table Tennis Association (NCTTA) ● Provides the best tournaments for our students ● Leading towards increased participation and increased level of competition ● ACUI and NCTTA will co-promote NCTTA’s divisional and regional tournaments which will serve as qualifying tournaments for ACUI’s Collegiate Table Tennis Championship. ● ACUI will no longer host sectional Table Tennis Tournaments. Once NCTTA Divisional and regional tournaments are completed, NCTTA will invite the top competitors to compete in the NCTTA Championship. 18 Recreation & Leisure: Get Involved! ● How To Get Involved o Help market the program to your student groups and participants  post flyers in your campus game room  add calendar events in your SOI software  support fundraising efforts for your 9-Ball and Table Tennis clubs o Host an event on campus to qualify and sponsor students to compete in a Sectional 9-ball or Table Tennis Divisional Tournament o Host a Sectional or National Tournament o Volunteer to officiate a sectional tournament ● For more information please contact James Contratto – Recreation & Leisure Programs Team Leader at contratto@southalabama.edu.

24 I-LEAD ® Institute What is I-LEAD ® ? ● Six-day, living, learning institute for student leaders ●Using the behaviors of exemplary leaders identified by Kouzes and Posner (2012) in “The Leadership Challenge,” provides students an opportunity to learn more about themselves, their campus communities, and the role student leaders must play in building those communities ●Large group sessions provide the foundation for learning ●Small group sessions, facilitated by outstanding student affairs professionals, connect learning with students’ real-world experience ●Personal reflection times encourage students to connect their experiences back to campus

26 I-LEAD ® : Connect ● ACUI's newest premier student program brought to your campus! ● Emphasizes leadership, community development, and change ● I-LEAD ® Connect offers an opportunity for college students to focus on personal growth and other issues facing our world ● This three-day institute prepares students to develop skills that will serve them as leaders in any situation regardless of role, organization, or environment while breaking cross-departmental barriers ● This program can be customized for each campus to better fulfill the needs of your student community
