Follow the following chat

Auxiliary verb are: be, do, have, can, could, may, might, shall, should, will, would, must When the main sentence contains an auxiliary verb or the non- auxiliary form be, we repeat the auxiliary verb in the question tag. We should see the scenery, shouldn’t we?

When the main sentence does not contain auxiliary verb the question tag uses the verb do/does/did. Do you know the man, don’t you? Mesi plays football, doesn’t he? Sumona got a visa to go to London, didn’t he?

Negative words-including- no, never, nobody, hardly, seldom, scarcely, little, nothing, few.neither, barely etc. With negative words we use non-negative question tags. A barking dog seldom bite, does it? There is little water in the class. Is there?

If the subject of the sentence is nothing, everything, something, anything, we use it in the question tag. Something is wrong, isn’t it? Everything is ready, isn’t it?

If subject of the sentence is nobody, everybody, everyone, somebody, anybody, none, we use they in the question tag. Everybody is waiting, aren’t they? Somebody loves ice-cream, don’t they? Nobody went there, did they?

Question tags after imperatives: Common question tags after imperatives are:- Will you? Would you? Can you? Could you?

If the imperative sentence is negative, we use, will you? Do not run in the rain, will you? If we use a tag question after let’s we use, shall we? Let us go to school, Shall we?

Exclamatory sentence Structure:Statement +comma+auxiliary verb/do verb+n’t+Sub(pronoun)+? What a beautiful scenery it is, isn’t it? How sweetly the girl sings, doesn’t she?

If the main verb is need, we use do in the question tag and needn’t replaced by need. He need a pen, doesn't he? You needn’t worry, need you?
