Definition- Lines that lie in the same plane, and are the same distance apart over their entire length. If you don’t have parallel lines in football you wont know where to kick off, start a play, how far you got, know where first downs are, etc.

 Definition- Objects that are the same size and same shape. If you have congruent objects in football, and the home teams field goal posts were wider then the away teams, then they would have an unfair advantage.

 Definition- Each of the pairs of opposite angles made by two intersecting lines. If you didn’t use your vertical angles in football, as a receiver you wouldn’t know how to run your routes. And when you don’t run your routes right you get hurt.

 Definition- Two lines that intersect at a right angle. If you didn’t have perpendicular lines in football, you wouldn’t have a place to hold the ball. The laces make perpendicular lines so its easier to hold and throw.

 Definition- The point where two lines meet or cross. If you didn’t have intersecting lines in football, you wouldn’t be able to fool defensive players into falling for the wrong guy because you cross paths.

 Definition- Two angles that add up to 180 degrees. If you didn’t have supplementary lines in football, you wouldn’t know which direction to block the other lineman.

 Definition- A long narrow mark or band.  Definition- A part of a line that is bounded by two end points.  The difference between a line and a line segment is a line segment is on a line, and without the line, there is no line segment.

 Definition-Next to or adjoining something.

 Definition- The state or fact of being similar.

 Definition- Having or appearing to have length and breadth but no depth.

 Definition-a round plane figure whose boundary consists of points equidistant from a fixed point.

 Definition- The area outside of a shape.

 Definition-a straight line passing from side to side through the center of a body or figure, esp. a circle or sphere.

 Definition- Having or appearing to have length, breadth, and depth.

 Definition-A dot or other punctuation mark (a period), or a decimal point.
