6. DO’s and DON’TS! DO: Let me know if you plan to be gone Check with a friend or check the lesson plan for that day to see what you missed Check with me or the website for missed worksheets, etc. Arrange for a time to make up tests Remember that YOU are responsible to get the work done in a timely manner.

DO: Bring and admit slip from the office or a teacher if you are tardy DO: Bring a blue slip from the office if you plan to leave class early for any reason, or a pass (pink slip) from a teacher if they need you to leave to see them. DO: Ask to leave the room and use a pass; only one student may leave at a time and only when we have finished with class work. Sign out to where you are going. You must take the hall pass and return in a timely manner. but don’t ask to leave unless it’s important and please limit the time you are gone so that others get a chance. don’t leave just to put books away

DO: BE PROMPT Get to class on time Have all of the things you need with you: book, assignments, pen, etc. DO: BE COURTEOUS Show respect for teachers and staff Show respect for other students, their space, and their property Show respect for the school and grounds-it’s your school and show your pride by taking care of it! Show respect for yourself DO: HAVE FUN LEARNING, AND PAY IT FORWARD-HELP OTHERS!

9. DON’T: No pop, candy or other food in the classroom unless it’s planned ahead of time. Gum is allowed as long as *I don’t see you chewing it *I don’t hear you chewing or cracking it *I don’t find it on my chairs or tables-please dispose of it properly! Water is allowed.

10. DON’T: Use your cell phone in class unless it is for and assigned activity. Phones must be in the hanging cell phone organizer to receive credit for the day. This is worth 1 point each day. Use MP3’s, Ipods, or an IpodTouch or other such device in class unless otherwise instructed Cell phones and other prohibited devices will be confiscated and given to Ms. Engelhart to deal with as per the rules in the school handbook…
