3  Having sexual intercourse can lead into sexually transmitted diseases(STDs), (STIs), or (VDs) are diseases or infections transmitted through intimate contact. STDs are a serious health problem and if untreated then it can cause serious permanent damage to your health. 4  Having a child at a young age is a very difficult for many reasons. Being pregnant interferes with academics and social life. Many girls drop out of school and don’t finish their education. A lot of girls hide it from their family and that causes to emotional feelings; which leads to stress.

6  There are health risks for the baby, and children born to teenage moms are more likely to suffer health, social, and emotional problems. 7  United states have the highest rate and birth in the western industrialized world.  Teen pregnancy cost about $7 billion annually.  1/3 girls get pregnant!

8  Every year around 750,000 teenagers will get pregnant.  Depending on the state, teenage birth rates are incredibly different.  Nevada has the highest rate: 113 per 1000  North Dakota the lowest 42 per 1000.  More than 2/3 of all teenagers who have a baby will not graduate from high school.  Billions of dollars are spent taking care of teenage mothers and their children and they are more likely later in life to not be in a good situation

9  While teaching many kids about safe sex and prevention the rates have dropped.  Among black teenagers, the pregnancy rate dropped around 40 percent since 1990.  Among Hispanic teenagers the pregnancy rate dropped around 19 percent since 1990.  Among white teenagers, the pregnancy rate dropped around 34 percent since 1990.
