Many teens ages (13-18) are having unprotected sex, which leads to pregnancy. Having unprotected sex is can lead to many things. It can lead into having diseases and becoming pregnant.
Having sexual intercourse can lead into sexually transmitted diseases(STDs), (STIs), or (VDs) are diseases or infections transmitted through intimate contact. STDs are a serious health problem and if untreated then it can cause serious permanent damage to your health. Some things it can cause is inability in having a baby or even death. Having a child at a young age is a very difficult for many reasons. Being pregnant interferes with academics and social life. Many girls drop out of school and don’t finish their education. A lot of girls hide it from their family and that causes to emotional feelings; which leads to stress.

Every year around 750,000 teenagers will get pregnant. Depending on the state, teenage birth rates are incredibly different. Nevada has the highest rate: 113 per 1000 North Dakota the lowest 42 per 1000. More than 2/3 of all teenagers who have a baby will not graduate from high school. Billions of dollars are spent taking care of teenage mothers and their children and they are more likely later in life to not be in a good situation
While teaching many kids about safe sex and prevention the rates have dropped. Among black teenagers, the pregnancy rate dropped around 40 percent since 1990. Among Hispanic teenagers the pregnancy rate dropped around 19 percent since 1990. Among white teenagers, the pregnancy rate dropped around 34 percent since 1990.
