2 Introduction He was an English writer and created some of the world's best-known fictional characters and is known as the greatest writer of the Victorian age

3 Some facts: Born in Portsmouth He left school to work in a factory when his father went to prison Even though he didn’t have a formal education he wrote hundreds of short stories His first published book was the ‘Pickwick Papers’ in 1836 Famous for his humour

4 More facts: He married in 1836 after a one year engagement He and Catherine had 10 children!!! He also worked in America He died after suffering a second stroke whilst writing a book
