4.  He grouped his music into three periods- Objective Nationalism, Subjective Nationalism, & Neo-expressionism.  Objective Nationalism incorporates Argentine folk themes in a straight forward manner, while the later periods integrate those elements in a more abstract form.  Influenced by Copland, Stravinsky, and Bartok
