2. What is the origin of Thanksgiving ? (1) On September 6 th 1620, a ship named the Mayflower left England with 102 passengers. Its destination was Virginia.During the voyage, a violent autumn storm has tossed the Mayflower and the ship has been blown of course.The voyage has long and the passengers were seasick and has suffered.They were mostly bored.

3. What is the origin of Thanksgiving ? (2) Finaly they landed at Cape Cod on the Massachusetts on November 11 th 1620. The pilgrims arrived in the new world during the winter, making it very difficult for them to find food and build shelter. Most of pilgrims failed to survive the first few month in they new home. Wampanoag already lives in the new world and helped the pilgrims to survive.

4. What is the origin of Thanksgiving ? (3) The first Thanksgiving took place in the autumn of 1621. The pilgrims and the wampanoag celebrated it. Thanksgiving was celebrated because the pilgrims wanted to thank the native Americans for helping them.

5. A typical Thanksgiving dinner. In a typical Thanksgiving dinner there's : a roast turkey with stuffing and served with a cranberry sauce, vegetables are sweet or mashed potatoes,creamed onions corn and celery stick. For dessert they usually have pumpkin pie. It's a big dinner.

6. Thanksgiving activities(1) During Thanksgiving, Americans can watch American football matches on TV. American football is more dangerous than soccer, the ball is like a rugby ball and the players wear pads and theyr touch the ball with their hands.

7. Thanksgiving activities (2) Americans can also watch Macy's parade fo Thanksgiving in the TV or in New York City. Macy's is a department store.For Macy's parade there are marching bands,floats and larger-than-life balloons.

8. Thanksgiving activities (3) Every year a white turkey is save by the president of the USA.This ceremony is called the presidential pardon.
