2. 7-16-2003IPCDN Working Group2 CableHome CableHome is a set of CableLabs specifications standardizing functionality for cable residential gateways A number of MIB modules were defined to support that functionality CableHome 1.0 specifications were adopted as set of ITU-T recommendations To facilitate ITU-T adoption and to maintain CableLabs’ tradition of adhering to open industry standards, the MIBs were submitted to the IPCDN http://www.cablelabs.com/projects/cablehome/specifications/

3. 7-16-2003IPCDN Working Group3 cable-gateway MIBs History Five MIBs submitted to the IPCDN in October 2002: –draft-jones-cable-gateway-device-mib –draft-jones-cable-gateway-configuration-mib –draft-jones-cable-gateway-addressing-mib –draft-jones-cable-gateway-tools-mib –draft-jones-cable-gateway-security-mib A sixth MIB, cable-gateway-qos-mib, was submitted when the other five were revised and re- submitted in January 2003 All six were revised based on IPCDN WG member feedback and updated drafts were submitted in March 2003

4. 7-16-2003IPCDN Working Group4 cable-gateway MIBs History The cable-gateway MIBs were accepted as IPCDN WG work items in March 2003 The drafts were updated to address IPCDN WG comments and those from other sources, and re- submitted June 23, 2003 with ‘ipcdn’ in the name and –00 version. –draft-ietf-ipcdn-cable-gateway-device-mib-00 –draft-ietf-ipcdn-cable-gateway-config-mib-00 –draft-ietf-ipcdn-cable-gateway-addressing-mib-00 –draft-ietf-ipcdn-cable-gateway-tools-mib-00 –draft-ietf-ipcdn-cable-gateway-security-mib-00 –draft-ietf-ipcdn-cable-gateway-qos-mib-00

6. 7-16-2003IPCDN Working Group6 What is Next? 1.Add vendor co-authors for QoS and Device MIBs 2.Update ‘Security Considerations’ section 3.Update MIBs to stay current with CableHome 4.MIB Doctor review 5.Move MIBs to WG Last Call Potential Concern: draft-ietf-nat-natmib-05 - Some may cite conflict with draft-ietf-ipcdn-cable-gateway- addressing-mib-00 - Note that draft-ietf-nat-natmib-05 expired May 2003 - cable-gateway-addressing-mib is limited in scope to CableHome specifications
