The Amber Room-Lost Masterpiece Of The World Culture RESEARH PROJECT Ozyorsk 2016 Ozyorsk Secondary School Make by Dmitry Lysenko Teacher: E.Yuldasheva

Hypothesis: “The Amber room is lost forever and it’s finding it is impossible.“ To prove or disprove this idea I decided to find out: 1. What are the causes of transmission of the amber Cabinet of the Russian Empire? 2. What is the fate of the amber room during the Second World War? 3. Which version is the current host of the amber room is most reliable? By answering these questions, I am going to prove or disprove the hypothesis. After all, the amber room - the treasure of world culture and the problem of finding relevant today. The Purpose And Objectives of The Project

The Creation of The Amber Room The amber room was created by master Andreas Schluter in 1709. Work on the Amber cabinet remained as Schluter was suspended. After several other 18th-century renovations, the room covered more than 55 square meters (590 sq. ft.) and contained over 6 tonnes (13,000 lb.) of amber. The room took over ten years to build. Prior to the transfer of the amber room of the Russian Empire is hadn't historical value..

Transmission of The Amber Room of The Russian Empire PETER THE GREAT FREDERICK WILLIAM I At a meeting of Peter The Great by Friedrich-Wilhelm I in November 1716 in connection with the conclusion of the Alliance between Russia and Prussia the Prussian king gave the Emperor gifts, among which was the Amber room.

The Use of The Amber Room Collected in 1746, the Amber room served for official receptions, although the ongoing reconstruction of the Winter Palace its not often moved from place to place. In July 1755 Elizabeth ordered Rastrelli to create a new Amber room at the Great Tsarskoye Selo Palace. The chief of staff of the Imperial Cabinet V. Fermor instructed to carefully disassemble the panels in the Winter Palace and put them in boxes. From Tsarskoe Selo was sent a special team, which manually moved the boxes from the capital to country residence. Thus began a new, almost two hundred years the glory era of the "eighth wonder of the world" in Russia — the second native land. Elizabeth

The Evacuation of The Amber Room During The Second World War In the early days of world war II in the Catherine Palace began the evacuation of Museum valuables; because of the fragility of the amber panels was decided not to dismantle them, and sealing on site: the panels are covered with paper, then gauze, overlaid with cotton and closed wooden shutters.

1. The room wаs destroyed in а fire саused by the fаult of the English pilots who bombed Konigsberg. 2. The Amber room wаs evасuаted from Konigsberg, аnd subsequently ended up in one of the still not found сасhes in Germаny, Аustriа, Polаnd or the Сzeсh Republiс. In this саse, it саn be lost — for the sаme reаson. 3. According to Michael Nauman - Minister of culture of Germany, the amber room was transported from Kenigsberg and is now in private collections. The Basic Version of The Finding of The Amber Room

СONСLUSION Finishing the projeсt, I would like to sаy thаt my hypothesis wаs сorreсt. The аmber room in its originаl form is lost forever. Mаny аttempts аt finding it fаiled. Whiсh meаns thаt the loсаtion of the “eighth wonder of the world” аnd remаins а mystery to аll humаnity.
