Underground Storage Tank (UST) Program Permits and Inspection – 8,241 permitted UST Systems, 27,729 registered tanks Issues permits to operate UST systems and inspects UST facilities to ensure compliance with UST statutes, rules and policies. Outreach efforts include educational and training opportunities. Corrective Action – Open Commercial Incidents 5,936 Open Noncommercial incidents 2,103 Oversees assessment and cleanup activities, conducts inspections and technical assistance visits. Pre-approves Trust Fund requests and reviews claims for technical reimbursement. Samples wells and monitors cleanup efforts to reduce risk to human health and the environment.
