1. Review of NRS Equipment on Loan to Care Homes Diana Mackay, Service Development Manager, Adult Social Care diana.mackay@cambridgeshire.gov.uk diana.mackay@cambridgeshire.gov.uk  Purpose of the Review:  To facilitate compliance with the standards in the regional guidance document  To ensure effective return / recycling of equipment on loan from the community equipment service (NRS)  To ensure that equipment is recycled and made available for others to use  To offer support and advice to care homes in relation to equipment provision

2. Review of NRS Equipment on Loan to Care Homes  The Review Process  NRS OT & NHS Tissue Viability Nurse will contact the Care Home to agree a date for the review  NRS will generate a list of equipment they understand is at the care home  Review will take place (length of time will depend on size of care home)  Reconciliation of equipment on the list / in the care home  Ensure residents have appropriate loan equipment  Agree what additional advice / support could be offered in relation to equipment provision in the home

3. Review of NRS Equipment on Loan to Care Homes  After the reviews…  Arrangements will be made to get unused equipment collected by NRS  Residents who require new or different equipment will have this prescribed as per the regional guidance document  OT will write up a report of the review and share with Care Home Manager  Onward referrals to CPFT (community nursing & therapy services) as necessary for ongoing monitoring
