2 Learning Objectives Math Activity Title: Numbers/Sense of Quantity and Counting Measure #32 1.Sight and number recognition. 2.The art of counting, in a way, that they can recite the numbers in right order. 3.To demonstrate understanding that the last number counted is the total count of all objects. Dramatic Play Activity Title: Tea Party with Friends Measure #9 1.It is to help children take a role in play situations with others. 2.Children will learn to communicate with pretend play with their peers. 3.To be aware of feelings of the others that are at the party as well.

3 Materials Needed Math Paper Paint Brushes Paint Dramatic Play Tea party toys, (cups, pots, play food, etc.) Dress up, various styles (boys and girls included)

4 Classroom Preparation Math  Maybe cover all work areas with newspaper to preserve them.  Set up papers, brushes and paint in front of children's chairs on their work areas. Dramatic Play  Allow the daily work areas, or tables to become the tea party setting.  Set up as desired  Not much prep, by this age they pretty much get what is about to happen

5 Procedure Math  Paint pictures of flowers (numbers up to you)  Have the children paint the amount that you decide on, and have them recite the numbers back to you.  Display all artwork on the wall for future reference. Dramatic Play  Allow the children to pretend with all toys and materials presented.  Watch to see how they converse and if an emergent curriculum may occur.

6 Modification for Children with Special Needs Math  May possibly need to have helper or associate teacher sit with your special needs child to assist them in their endeavors. Dramatic Play  Have helper or associate teacher assist special needs child with clothing, dress-up, maybe even comprehension of activity.

7 References Math o Myself- I used to do this in my daycare, we would also paint bees, birds, bugs, animals, etc. GREAT FUN Dramatic Play o Myself- Again I used to do this in my daycare and it would go on for quite some time. Dramatic play is always fun.

8 Conclusion Observe and assess the children and try to base your curriculum plans on their best interests and needs. Plan ahead! Don’t wait until the last minute it is going to take some time and some practice. Keep your classroom as organized as possible, it makes learning more enjoyable for everyone.
