Some things in the Word of God were not meant to be understood until the end times. (Dan 12:4) There is a special blessing for those who read and study Revelation which is a pivotal book in regards to prophecy and the end times. (Rev 1:3) …the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. (Rev 19:10) Eschatology – The study of last things or end times. Hermeneutics – Theory of interpretation, allegorical or serious (literal)

4.  SESSION 1.2 – THE 69 WEEKS  The Key Event When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) [Mat 24:15 KJV]

6.  SESSION 1.2 – THE 69 WEEKS  Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, 1.to finish the transgression, 2.to make an end of sins, 3.to make reconciliation for iniquity, 4.to bring in everlasting righteousness, 5.to seal up the vision and prophecy, 6.and to anoint the most Holy Place.

7.  SESSION 1.2 – THE 69 WEEKS  Seventy weeks… 7 x 70 = 490 years שׁבעים : s ̌ ib ̱ ‘iym – A plural or a Dual – seventy sevens Plainly means weeks of years Daniel uses term ‘full weeks’ to refer to weeks of days. Dan10:2 In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks.

8.  SESSION 1.2 – THE 69 WEEKS  are determined - H2852. חָתַךְ h ̣ a ̄ t ̱ ak ̱ : A verb indicating something decreed upon thy people – Daniel was Hebrew. The Jews. and upon thy holy city – Daniel was praying for the Jews and Jerusalem to finish the transgression – The Jews are still a rebellious sinful people to make reconciliation for iniquity – Atonement at Calvary for all to bring in everlasting righteousness – The Millennial reign? to seal up the vision and prophecy – To make the prophecy sure and to anoint the most Holy Place – A rebuilt and dedicated temple

9.  SESSION 1.2 – THE 69 WEEKS  The 69 Weeks (verse 25) Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the King shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

10.  SESSION 1.2 – THE 69 WEEKS  Know therefore and understand – Daniel was given the prophecy so he could know that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem Not the temple, the city!

11.  SESSION 1.2 – THE 69 WEEKS  The Decrees to “Rebuild Jerusalem” 1.Cyrus, 537 B.C. Ezra1:2-4 2.Darius Ezra 6:1-5, 8, 12 3.Artaxerxes, 458 B.C. Ezra7:11-26 4.Artaxerxes, 445 B.C. Neh 2:5-8, 17, 18 (1) (2) and (3) were to build the Temple. Only the last one (4) was to rebuild the city & the walls.

12.  SESSION 1.2 – THE 69 WEEKS  unto the Messiah the King - Meshiach Nagid: “The Messiah the King.” Jesus Christ shall be seven weeks, - 7 x 7 = 49 years and threescore and two weeks: - 62 x 7 = 434 years, + 49 = 483 years the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

13.  SESSION 1.2 – THE 69 WEEKS  The Meshiach Nagid: “The Messiah the King.” The prediction is to the presentation of the Messiah the King ( Nagid is first used of King Saul). On several occasions in the New Testament when they attempted to take Jesus as a King, He invariably declined, “Mine hour is not yet come.” (Jn 6:15; 7:30, 44; etc.) Then one day, He arranges it. All four Gospels, Mt21:1-9; Mk11:1-10; Lk19:29-39; Jn12:12-16. Nisan10: Jesus held them accountable to recognize this very day (Lk 19:41-44). This was the 10th of Nisan, prior to the Passover on the 14th of Nisan, A.D. 32.

14.  SESSION 1.2 – THE 69 WEEKS  Lk 19:34 And they said, The Lord hath need of him.35 And they brought him to Jesus:and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon.36 And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way.37 And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen;38 Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord:peace in heaven, and glory in the highest.39 And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples.40 And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.41 And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,42 Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.43 For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,44 And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.
