3 Jess’s Indian parents want her to grow up according to their culture. She wants to play soccer but its against what her parents want her to do. Marrying a man from a different culture (interracial) is strictly prohibited. Mrs Bhamra: Strict, Impulsive. Jules: Argumentative, fight for what she wants.

4 So far this movie is about a girl called Jesminder (Jess) who only wants to play football but her parents don’t want her to. So she fakes a job and secretly trains and plays football with her new team. Jess’s team get invited to the semis in Ger many where after the game go clubbing and gets caught almost kissing Jules cr ush (their coach Joe). Apon arrival (in England) her parents are angry and are w aiting for her in the car park. After caught in the semi finals by her parents, she n o longer wishes to play soccer. At her sister’s (Pinkie), she looks really depresse d and her friend motivates her to make it to the second half. With permission fro m her dad, she goes and her team wins. A national American scout watches the game and is very impressed with their football skill, so she gives a football and u niversity scholarship to Jules and Jess.

5 Scene 1: give it a title Manchester untied playing in a final. David Beckham the Manchester untied team. Jess bhamra. Mrs Bhamra. How is this scene shown? List film techniques. Because she scores the winning goal for Manchester united. It’s a dream of hers a main ambition. She’s imagining that she is playing for man united.

6 Scene 2: Jess joins the club. Jules thinks that Jess has the skills to join her girls team. She shows off her ability to the coach (Joe). Coach Joe, Jules, Jess, girls football team. How is this scene shown? List film techniques. 7 Scene 3: give it a title Jess’ mum is upset when she finds Jess playing football. Tony + boys, jess and mum and dad. How is this scene shown? List film techniques. Eg verbal: dialogue, music, (non) diegetic sound Visual: costume, lighting, camera shots/angles 1.Mid and long shot. Zoom in on Jess, because they want to make her facial expression known to the audience. Low and high angle shots make them look stronger. Wide shot. Two shot mid shot. 2.The non diegetic sound is music. Diegetic is the footballers yelling. 3.Dialogue, he touched you all over. 4.“now exams are over, you’ll learn full Punjabi dinner, meat and vegetarian.” 5.“I don’t want the shame on my family.” After jess has joined the school team. Because jess’s mum and dad have said that they don’t want her playing football because her sister is getting married. Also their family reputation will be hurt..

8 Scene 4: The soccer game BEFORE the wedding. The soccer game after Jules catches Jess nearly kissing their coach. Someone fouls Jess and she gets a red card for violent conduct. Harrier Soccer team, Opponent soccer team, Joe, Referee, Mr brahma, crowd. How is this scene shown? List film techniques. 9 Scene 5: Final Game After leaving the wedding half way through, she arrives at the soccer game for the last half hour of the game. Mr Bahmra, Jess, Jules, Soccer team, Tony, Crowds.
