K. Grogg University of Wisconsin RCT shift report 8 – 15 October 2008 K. Grogg Next shifter: C. Lazaridis 17 March 2016 1 RCT shift report

K. Grogg University of Wisconsin 18-crate pattern test n Pattern Test performed on Oct. 9 u Known problems l Crate 5, card 3, 128 bit stuck: not in our hardware; likely a cable / connection problem l Crate 12 still needs to be investigated; possibly electron ordering problem l Crate 7 still has a problem sharing of the fg/HoE bit of card 6, region 1 with Crate 8 cards 4 and 6 u New problems l Crate 4 Isolated electrons have the 2 bit stuck low for all cards (this has been seen before) l Region sum of Crate 2, card 3, region 1 had mismatched ranks for one test è Looks like the 256 and 512 bits were switched n No chance to run pattern tests yet this week because of global run 17 March 2016 RCT shift report 2

K. Grogg University of Wisconsin DCS summary n Racks have been steady all week u New DCS software version has improved the regular archiving of data points n Tuesday and Wednesday RMCs went offline (could still ping, but no information in PVSS) 17 March 2016 RCT shift report 3

K. Grogg University of Wisconsin Shift phone n No shift phone calls this week 17 March 2016 RCT shift report 4

K. Grogg University of Wisconsin Data quality monitoring Run 64758Run 64903 Lookup tablesPhysics Electron candidatesECAL Region sumsECAL + HCAL # of events3000039000 17 March 2016 RCT shift report 5 When running, got error messages “Invalid HTR data observed on spigot X of DCC with source id XXX” Other DQMed runs with similar results: 64756, 64768, 65948

K. Grogg University of Wisconsin Run 64741: ECAL + HCAL n Used physics LUTs n Electron candidates from ECAL n Region sums from ECAL + HCAL n Run over 30,000 events 17 March 2016 RCT shift report 6

K. Grogg University of Wisconsin Nonisolated electron efficiencies n Efficiency looks good n Inefficiency—a few channels which are masked in hardware but not in emulator 17 March 2016 RCT shift report 7 Run 64741

K. Grogg University of Wisconsin Region efficiencies n Very good agreement between nonisolated electrons and region sums 17 March 2016 RCT shift report 8 Run 64741

K. Grogg University of Wisconsin Region overefficiency n Understood—losing ~ 30% of HCAL TPGs; causes large overefficiency 17 March 2016 RCT shift report 9 Run 64741

K. Grogg University of Wisconsin Run 64903: ECAL + HCAL n Used physics LUTs n Electron candidates from ECAL n Region sums from ECAL + HCAL n Run over 39,000 events 17 March 2016 RCT shift report 10

K. Grogg University of Wisconsin Nonisolated electron efficiencies n Reasonable efficiency, but very low statistics (only ~80 ECAL TPGs) n Overefficiency from same effect as last run 17 March 2016 RCT shift report 11 Run 64903

K. Grogg University of Wisconsin Region efficiencies n New effect—region geometry is correct, but energies between data and emulator do not agree for η = 6, 15 n Same RCT configuration key as for previous run 17 March 2016 RCT shift report 12 Run 64903
