3 TEKS §111.12. Mathematics, Kindergarten. – (b) Knowledge and skills. (1) Number, operation, and quantitative reasoning. The student uses numbers to name quantities. The student is expected to: – (A) use one-to-one correspondence and language such as more than, same number as, or two less than to describe relative sizes of sets of concrete objects; – (B) use sets of concrete objects to represent quantities given in verbal or written form (through 20); and – (C) use numbers to describe how many objects are in a set (through 20) using verbal and symbolic descriptions.

4 It was a beautiful day outside.

5 It was Easter Sunday and Lisa the Bunny was ready to hunt for eggs.

6 When she looked behind the first tree, she found three eggs!

7 She was so excited, so she hurried on to the next tree, but she only found one egg.

8 Behind the big tree Lisa found four eggs!

9 Now Lisa was really excited so she ran up the hill hoping to find more eggs.

10 Here Lisa found nine whole eggs! Now it’s time to go count them all.

11 Wow! Lisa found seventeen whole eggs.
