What is Life 101? An activity based on your GA College 411 surveys You will be given a career and family Your job is to ‘live this life’ to see how you would spend your money. You are responsible for paying all of your bills without running out of money.

How does it work? On March 11 th during your lab time, you will come to the gym. Booths with community volunteers will be set up representing all of your monthly responsibilities ie. Banking, housing, utilities, automobile, childcare, groceries etc. Your job is to visit each booth and keep track of your finances.

How does it work? Everyone MUST visit the Bank, Housing, Utilities, Transportation, and Groceries. VISIT THESE FIRST!

How does it work? The other tables are optional to make a purchase, but think realistically. If you can’t live without having your hair done, then you need to visit the Beauty booth. If you currently have a cell phone and plan to have a cell phone as an adult, then you should pay for one. There is another booth called Life’s Unexpected. You will draw a ticket to find out if you get a bonus at work, have an unexpected bill or another unexpected event. While visiting booths, please remember the number of people in your family. You must provide for everyone.

What if I run out of money? If you are running low on money, you can visit the Help Wanted table to interview for a part time job. Whether or not you get the job will be based on how well you interview.

CHECK OFF SHEET You must have visited all booths and have each line initialed by the volunteer at the table. Start with the first 4. They are most important!

CRYSTAL BALL SHEET This is your future. You will play this game of life using the information on this sheet. You will use all of this information for this activity.

YOUR PAY CHECK This is your monthly paycheck. You will notice the deductions at the bottom. Gross pay is the total amount you earned before deductions. Net is how much your check is worth (take home pay), after deductions. *Use a NET to TAKE HOME your paycheck.
