Also uses existing FIR/LMM hardware.  PD: Tibor Lorik- GRC PI: William Meyer - GRC  PD/PI support ops from GRC TSC  Experiment uses the Light Microscopy Module in the Fluids Integrated Rack (LAB1S4)  Characterize LMM higher magnification capabilities (100X)  Crew setup similar to Controlled Vapor Bubble but with oil immersion (not air)  Ops conducted from ground  LMM characterization w/o ARIS (during crew sleep, crew nominal ops, crew exercise)  LMM characterization w/ ARIS (during crew sleep, crew nominal ops, crew exercise)  ARIS Calibration must be completed prior to PACE Ops

12 MOL The Mission Operations Laboratory Page 12 NASA MSFC Huntsville, Alabama PACE Test Target More details: The image on the left is an overview of the Air Force Test Target that was used for the LMM test target. The image on the right is a 100 x image of the smallest subsection of the test target. This image was taken with an oil immersion objective, coupled directly to the target face. The image was taken with the camera set for Autoexpose, which yielded an exposure time of 1.61 ms. The image gives a contrast ratio of ~ 73%, which should yield a very effective method for measuring image variability due to motion or de-focus.
