2 Legacy Lincoln Hated slavery from the very start Lincoln probably is most known for freeing the slaves He will also be known for being the 16 th president of the US Another thing he will be known for is his Gettysburg Address which helped free the slaves

3 Personal Life Lincoln Had many friends. A few of them were Joshua Speed, Ann Rutlege, and Mary Todd. His parents were Thomas Lincoln, Nancy Lincoln, and a stepmom named Sarah Bush Johnson. His two siblings are Sarah Lincoln and Thomas Lincoln who died when he was an infant. Joshua Speed Thomas Lincoln

4 Early Life Lincoln was born in a log cabin in Hodgenville, Kentucky When he was seven him, his sister, and his biological parents moved to Indiana to buy a farm. Lincoln would spend his days chopping wood and working the land He would also read books that he would walk miles to borrow

5 Middle Life Lincoln lived in Indiana and in New Salem In new Salem he worked as a store clerk in Denton's Offutt’s He also served in the Black Hawk war before joining a secret spy corps Later he married Mary Todd and had three children Robert Todd, William Wallace, and Thomas “Tad”

6 Political Life He gave his first political speech in 1832 for a very small town election that he did not win A quote of his that inspired many people is “I walk slowly but never walk back” While he was president he made a very famous speech called The Gettysburg Address which helped free the slaves

7 Death Lincoln was assassinated in 1865 in Fords Theater John Wilkes Booth was the one who assassinated him John jumped from the balcony and injured his leg, he then proceeded to run The authority's caught him and killed John John Wilkes Booth Gun used to kill Lincoln

8 Remembering him Lincoln is remembered today for his great heat and helping to free the slaves. He will also be remembered for being the 16 th president of the United States. Lincoln will be remembered for bad things also such as being assassinated by John Wilkes Booth in 1965. Lincoln will be remembered forever!

9 Random Facts Abraham Lincoln was the only president that had a child that died in the white house. Nickname was Honest Abe The Lincoln Memorial was dedicated to him on May 30, 1922 He found adventure navigating a flat boat down the Mississippi river Lincolns Law office was located in downtown Springfield Lincoln’s mom died on October 5, 1818 Sarah (Lincoln’s sister) died of childbirth in 1828 His father was a carpenter and a farmer His first child was Robert Todd who grew up to be a lawyer and a diplomat Lincolns fathers father was also shot and killed Sarah Bush Johnson (Lincoln’s new mother) had three children of her own
