2  Subject of “hell” denied or treated lightly.  “Hell” is an important Bible concept and nobody talked more about it than a certain preacher: Matt. 5:22, 29, 30; 10:28; 18:9; 23:15. 33; Mk. 9:43, 45, 47; Lk. 12:5 (Jas. 3:6)  Hell is real and the vast majority are going there! Psa. 9:17; Matt. 7:13-14; 2 Thess. 1:8-9; Matt. 7:21-23; Matt. 23:15; Rev. 3:15-16; Rev. 21:8; Matt. 25:30; Rev. 22:18-19  Those in “hell” (just like heaven), have a conscious, eternal existence: Matt. 25:41, 46; Lk. 16:19-31; Rev. 14:11; 2 Thess. 1:7-9; Mk. 9:42-48 2

4  Hell is a place of total darkness: Matt. 25:30; 22:1-14; 2 Pet. 2:17; Jude 13  One goes blind if in total darkness for just a few months.  Can you imagine being in total darkness forever! 4 Things Not Found in Hell

5  Learn that from the story of the rich man and Lazarus: Lk. 16:19-31  No wonder the Hebrew writer says, “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” Heb. 10:26- 31 5 Things Not Found in Hell

6  A simple drop of water would have comforted the rich man: Lk. 16:24  Have you ever been really thirsty and no water available? How comforting was that first drink?!  Hell not designed for man: Matt. 25:41 6 Things Not Found in Hell

7  Rich man was stripped of all his possessions: Lk. 16:25  Wise men have always recognized this important fact: Job 1:21; Eccl. 5:15; 1 Tim. 6:7  Have you ever thought of that?! 7 Things Not Found in Hell

8  No one likes to have their movement restricted.  Remember when your car was in the shop and you were “without wheels”?  “Life without parole” may be the worst punishment our legal system can mete out.  The rich man had “eternity without parole”! Lk. 16:26 8 Things Not Found in Hell

9  Prisoners on “Devil’s Island” were not allowed any communication.  Prisoners called this the worst thing about their punishment.  From all indications, such will be the case in hell: Lk. 16:26-31 9 Things Not Found in Hell

10  Some foolishly say, “If goes to hell, then I want to go there to be with them.”  The rich man had no such desire for company: Lk. 16:27-28  I’m an introvert, but I don’t want to be alone for all of eternity. 10 Things Not Found in Hell

11  Certainly unbelievers and infidels are destined for hell: Rev. 21:8  But, by the time they get there they won’t be unbelievers any longer! Rom. 14:11; Phil. 2:10-11  Can you live in eternity with the constant nagging thought “If I had only…” 11 Things Not Found in Hell

13  Man can put up with many deprivations for a long time: e.g., Papillion, Castaway  But, there’s one thing no man can do without for very long: HOPE!  If we are lost in hell we will end up in the ultimate “hopeless” situation! Job 17:15; Eph. 2:12, 13; Matt. 22:13 13 Things Not Found in Hell

14 14  When we consider the things found in hell, is it any wonder what Jesus said in Matthew 10:28?  Any wonder Jesus told us to employ such drastic measures to avoid going there?! Mk. 9:42-48  How shall we avoid going there? 2 Thess. 1:7-9; 1 Jn. 3:3-5; Rev. 22:14
