VESSEL SETTINGS

Vessel Functions Each mobile can have separate settings for each Area Map. Main Vessel (designation) Display Shape (toggle) Select Shape Unload Shape Symbol Symbol and Shape Color Fill Color (Shape only) Track Parameters Course Made Good Vectors Draw Sensor Positions Draft/Squat Correction Show Profile Window (toggle) Label Vessel (toggle) Position Filtering Heave Drift Alarm Anchors (Drop and Raise)

Symbol or Boat Shapes  User can display a symbol or a 2-D boat shape.  Shape Files can either be made in HYPACK’s BOAT SHAPE EDITOR or can be a DXF file.  The 0X,0Y of the DXF file must be at location of the Boat Reference Origin used to place the sensors in HYPACK HARDWARE.  Transparency Level:  Allows you to see through the boat shape to view chart features or matrix cells.  Scale:  Allows you to exaggerate or contract the size of your boat shape.

DXF Boat Shapes Shapes: SHP files made in the Boat Shape Editor. DXF files: X-Y origin in DXF file must match HYPACK®’s Boat Reference origin. To make the DXF file ‘transparent’ so you can see the background, select white as the fill color.

Display Options Vessel Track: The time for previous positions to be displayed. Range Circle: A circle of this radius is placed around the boat origin. CMG Vector: A Course Made Good vector showing where the vessel will be in ‘x’ seconds, based on the current speed and heading of the vessel. Device Offsets: Shows the location of devices on the vessel. Extend CMG Vector to Edge of Window Vessel Label: Places a text label on the Area Map for the vessel. Profile Window: Used to set up the Boat Profile window.

Display Options: Anchor Windows

Dynamic Draft Correction As an option, the user can manually set the Dynamic Draft correction from the Vessel window’s General Tab. The draft correction: Is saved in the header of every data file. Is saved anytime it is changed when the status is ‘Logging’. Is available for display in the Data Display for each vessel. Can also be automatically determined using a pressure transducer. Is sent to 3DTV using Shared Memory. The value you enter for the ‘Draft Correction’ is superseded if you have a Draft device configured in HARDWARE.

Label Vessels Attaches the vessel name to the shape or symbol.

Dead Reckoning Gate Distance Calculated Position has to be within this distance from the last ‘accepted’ position. Otherwise, it is rejected, and replaced with the Calculated Position. Max Consecutive Positions Rejected After it rejects ‘n’ positions in a row, it accepts one. You supply the ‘n’ value. Enable Activates the Dead Reckoning Capability. Dead Reckoning calculates a Position based on the current Speed, Heading, and Elapsed Time from the last Position.

Heave Drift Alarm Set an Alarm Threshold in feet/meters. Click “Enable” to check for Heave Drift. If the Average Heave Value over 30 seconds moves above/below 0.0 by the Threshold amount, an alarm is generated in SURVEY.
