3 Is the information fair? Is the author expressing an opinion? Can you find the same information in another resource? What qualifications does the author have on the topic?

4 Is the information reliable? Are there errors in spelling and grammar? Are there dead links? Were the facts checked by editors? Can you find the same information in another resource?

5 Who wrote this information? What qualifications does the author have on the topic? Who published this site or what company represents the information? Is this an organization with strong opinions? When was this site created? Is the site current?

6 Does the site list sources or a bibliography? Where did the author get this information? Can you find the same information in another source? Is there contact information like an email or postal address? Can you find your way around the site easily?

7 The more information you can find to put in the citation, the better the site will be Author/editor’s last name, author/editor’s first name (if given). Name of site. Name of organization affiliated with the site (sponsor or publisher or n.p), Date of creation (if available or n.d). Web. Date of access. Fact Check! If you doubt the information, check another source such as an encyclopedia, another website. Do not use Wikipedia as a source, use it as spring board to more credible sites.
