AIACC II Objectives: a proposal Enhance the scientific foundation and capacity needed to lessen vulnerability to climate variability, extremes and change in the developing world Link scientific knowledge and capacity with existing mechanisms for planning and implementing policies and measures related to climate, natural hazards, resource management, poverty and development

5. AIACC II: Themes/focus Continue focus on human dimensions, particularly on vulnerability and adaptation? –Encourage proposals on particular sectors or themes? Climate change or continuum of climate variability at short time scales to long-term climate change?

6. AIACC II Participation All developing countries or focus on LDCs? Economies in transition? Continuation of current countries/teams or new countries/teams? –Mixture of both –External evaluation for continuation Priority for countries that did not have a project in phase 1?
