5 Disaster Planning & Preparedness [WHAT-IF] you were isolated by a disaster right now. Are you ready? Have you scanned your Important Documents to USB? As part of the Queensland Government’s “RACQ Get Ready Queensland” Campaign, Council in conjunction with CARE Goondiwindi is offering a free service to the community - ‘Scan Your Important Document to USB’. The aim of this project is to encourage people to think about the potential impact that the loss of personal documents (such as birth certificates, insurance policies, etc. would have as the result of a disaster event. Head into your local Council Library or to CARE Goondiwindi today to use the scanning machine and pick up your free USB* for scanning purposes. (* one per household) TO PARTICIPATE: Simply bring your important documents along to your local Council Library or to CARE Goondiwindi, scan the documents to USB, and take the USB home with you - remember to keep the USB in a safe place so that in the event of a disaster you have a backup.
