3 Discussion Discuss what types of Toys each personality might use.

4 Write the Answers Discuss how a physical problem such as deafness or blindness could affect a baby’s emotional and social development. List as many adjectives as you can to describe a person of each of the three general personality types discussed in this chapter.

5 Intellectual Development 0-12 months

11 Cause and Effect Cause and effect is developing form birth. Examples: eyes closed, sucking Babies gradually begin to develop control over cause and effect.

12 Cause and effect learning changes as motor skills develop. Motor skills help them learn they have power over some things. What are some toys that will help a baby develop a sense of cause and effect?

13 Attention Span A babies attention span is valuable information Does the child enjoy things repeated many times or only a few? The shorter the attention span the brighter the child.
