6 Goals See thoughtful planning as the necessary first step Understand the crucial role of audience and purpose in quality student writing Apply Optimal Learning Model for teaching writing. Begin to use and apply the Framework for Teaching Writing Genres to writing in any genre. Use the Deeper Understanding charts to enhance our “take-away” from the video clips. Use the resources in this session to help us begin to plan writing in a genre for our students. Understand the leaning associated with this project extends beyond memoir writing and applies to all writing genres and to instruction across the curriculum. Understand the students are still writing daily while in the immersion/planning stages.
